    Despite what the name and her current residence might infer, Brooklyne was born and raised in Inglewood, Calif. 

    She currently works a little too far from home, in New York City, as the Associate Editor of XXL magazine -the premiere hip-hop music magazine in the country.  

    In the past, she’s worked as a staff writer and blogger, most recently for The Loop, a news analysis Web site that focuses on economics, politics, and social issues. At The Loop, she wrote news stories regularly as well as the Across the Afrosphere and Post-Race blogs. Some of her stories have also appeared on RushmoreDrive.com and GlobalGrind.com.

    Interests: Race, politics, hip-hop,  youth culture, and popular culture.
